Cabo Del Mar Overview
Nestled in in a well-kept gated community within Huntington Beach, Cabo Del Mar remains a neighborhood of condo homes that backs up to the coastal wetlands, with these hundreds of acres of protected vacant land acting as the perfect complement to the community’s resort-style living characteristics. Cabo Del Mar was constructed between 1983 and 1984, boasting 288 units spread out over a large neighborhood and a variety of models and floor plans to choose from, with many of the condos offering unobstructed distance ocean views.
These 288 units are housed in multiple buildings, all of which reside on four main streets – Dorado Drive, Abalone Lane, Tortuga Drive and Corbina Lane – a strategic infrastructure layout that puts everything at Cabo Del Mar in close proximity to the nearby Huntington Harbor shopping mall. Furthermore, with only one entrance and one exit to and from the complex, traffic and noise levels are kept to a minimum, resulting in an even more enthralling environment in which to enjoy the Bolsa Chica Ecological Reserve and the way the Department of Fish and Game protects these coastal wetlands.
From Bachelors to Bedrooms: Breaking Down the Floor Plans
The Cabo Del Mar condo units are divided among three floor plan styles:
Bachelor Units
The complex boasts 72 “bachelor” units (studios) that feature cozy living rooms with wood-burning fireplaces, full bathrooms with large oval tubs and laundry closets, to say nothing of the skylights that let plenty of rich SoCal illumination in to make these 535-square-foot (approx.) residences feel super-spacious. The studios are located on one level, either up or downstairs, and are one-story units.
One-Bedroom Condos
With 120 one-bedroom models to choose from and sizes beginning at 761-square-feet, there’s no shortage of this type of floor plan at Cabo Del Mar. The kitchen area of the one-bedroom condos offer plenty of storage space with room for a dining table, while the living room features a two-sided fireplace with space to entertain. The bedroom boasts dual closets and a master bath with dual vanities, and some one-bedroom floor plans include a loft with enough space for an office or play area.
These one-bedroom condos were built as one-story units, two-story units or in the style of the dynamic tri-level plan.
Two-Bedroom Condos
Cabo Del Mar offers 96 two-bedroom units, with size and square-footage for these ranging from approximately 923 to 1,105, with double-sided fireplaces, spacious living rooms and individual laundry rooms common in these models. The bedrooms are roomy, as well, with dual closets, and while not all of the two-bedroom floor plans offer two bathrooms, many of them boast spiral staircases leading up to lofts.
These gorgeous loft spaces have often been expanded or used as a separate “unofficial” third bedrooms, with all two-bedroom units designed as one and two-story condos.
What’s more, the two-bedroom condos commonly feature high ceilings and large windows, adding to the ultra-dramatic effect, these elements making the units feel open and bright. Private patios, decks and balconies, meanwhile, represent extensions of the living/bedroom areas, offering a plethora of room to enjoy the outdoors.

The Amenities Factor
Cabo Del Mar condos in Huntington Beach are among the most exceptional with regard to the amenities the community offers. Residents have access to a large resort-style pool and spa, with plenty of room to stretch out and show off that new figure-hugging bikini while soaking in some sun, in addition to a sauna and community clubhouse, the latter of which is used for monthly HOA meetings (but may be reserved, with advance notice, for private events and gatherings).
There is also a lighted tennis court and racquetball court for residents and their guests, and parking is located in an underground community garage, designated by space number. The community offers extra parking spaces for guests throughout the grounds.
