For those of you who never heard of Surfcrest, or who are considering a relocation to the Huntington Beach area and are just getting your feet wet in the realty scene here, we’re going to shine a little light on this charming neighborly oasis that’s just steps from the richly grained southern California sand.
In fact, so close to the shore is this lovely enclave of townhomes that some residents consider the entire community a private beach of their own – taking into consideration a policy that ensures no parking on the streets outside of the gate or on Pacific Coast Highway, thus anywhere near the community, it’s easy to see why.
As an exclusive community of 115 townhomes located steps from the Pacific Ocean, Surfcrest is a well-established neighborhood that continues to attract interest from buyers shopping in the Huntington Beach area – namely because of its midsize homes of high value.
The Mediterranean Meets Huntington Beach
The townhomes in Surfcrest are three-story beauties styled in the likeness of Mediterranean-esque residences, the planned gated community boasting units generally pricing out in the mid-$800,000 range. Built in 1997, Surfcrest remains one of the few communities in Huntington Beach that offers direct views of the sandy surf just beyond, with no buildings blocking those gorgeous vistas.
If luxury is what you’re after, look no further than Surfcrest; you can take in the aforementioned views of the mighty Pacific Ocean right from your private balcony, indulge in the breathtaking community pool and spa and marvel at the sleek, modern exterior and fantastic natural lighting offered by each and every unit. And, if seclusion is a priority, Surfcrest is a relatively small community with a total of 115 townhomes.
Breaking it Down: Bedrooms and Baths
Units in the Surfcrest community are offered in four well-appointed floor plans, with the Antigua being the smallest example at 2,030 square-feet and boasting two bedrooms and two-and-a-half baths. The Bermuda offers 2,140 square-feet and three bedrooms/two-and-a-half baths, the Catalina 2,150 square-feet and the Del Sol 2,430 square-feet, with the Catalina and Del Sol both also coming with three bedrooms and two-and-a-half baths.
All units feature a three-level plan with two-car garage and laundry room on the first level; kitchen, dining, living areas and powder room on the second level; and bedrooms and two full baths privately tucked away on the third level. Additionally, each unit includes high sprawling ceilings, a spacious kitchen with generous pantry, courtyard views, family room with fireplace, formal dining room, front deck, private courtyard and master suite including a fireplace, walk-in closet and en-suite bath with double vanities. Units are equipped with ample storage including linen closets,
spacious wardrobes in the additional bedrooms and a spacious pantry in the kitchen.
While the townhomes differ mostly in terms of square-footage, there are some other subtle elements that separate them; for example, the Bermuda is the only floor plan in Surfcrest which includes a walk-in closet in one of the spare bedrooms. Further, the Del Sol includes additional outdoor space not found in the other variants.
As we mentioned, prices of units in Surfcrest generally fall in the mid-$800,000s, but can go up to $1.2 million – and higher. For square-footage in excess of 2,000, ocean views from many units and private two-car garage parking in every townhome, that’s actually a reasonable price to pay for an ocean view home in Orange County. Furthermore, Surfcrest is one of the best kept secrets as one can find some of the best real estate deals in all of Huntington Beach.
